Papa the son of R. Hanan of Be Kelohit heard this. He went and said it before R. Shimi b. Ashi. [The latter] said to him: You teach it in reference to that, we teach it in reference to this: Resh Lakish said; One who has brought an evil name upon a minor is exempt, as it is said, “And he shall give them to the father of the young girl” the verse referred to a full “na’arah.”
